Physician Opportunities

Posting: Pediatrician(s)

Position Description: The Pediatrician, under the direction and supervision of the Cooperative’s Chief Medical Officer (CMO) will provide comprehensive health care to pediatric patients from birth to 18 years of age.

Posting: Family Medicine / Internal Medicine Physician

Location: Pelion Family Practice, Pelion South Carolina 
Position Description: The Family or Internal Medicine Physician, under the direction and supervision of the Cooperative’s Chief Medical Officer (CMO), will provide comprehensive health care to adults age 18 and older.  


A current unrestricted license to practice as a Physician (MD) in the State of South Carolina and Prescriptive Authority for the State of South Carolina is required. Physicians employed by the Cooperative must maintain the required amount of CME to meet licensure and State Board requirements while actively employed. The Physician must maintain licensure and CPR certification during all terms of employment. Individuals that are bilingual/bi-cultural are encouraged to apply.


Nursing Department

Position Description:
The Director of Nursing (DON) represents and promotes The Cooperative’s vision, mission, and values through the management of assigned laboratory, referrals, and nursing team members to assure efficiency and stability of patient care and clinical operations.  He/she is responsible for planning, developing, and supervising clinical activities, trainings, objectives, and the development of policies and procedures which promote global positive outcomes to fulfill the strategic plan of the Cooperative. 
Education & Experience: Must have basic word processing and computer skills, a positive and pleasant attitude and work well with others.  Should be flexible and detail oriented with strong communication and management skills and a professional demeanor.
Education:  Graduate of an accredited four (4) year program of nursing is required; a Master of Science in Nursing, Public Health, or Health Administration degree is preferred.  Currently licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the state of South Carolina with a current BLS certification.
Experience: At least five (5) years of experience in a clinical patient care setting and three (3) years of experience in a supervisory or management capacity in a multispecialty ambulatory clinic setting.  Expertise in clinical nursing:  understanding of state, federal, and local nursing service regulations.  Experience with underserved populations preferred.  Ability to communicate in English and Spanish preferred.

Position Description:  The Charge Nurse is responsible for the supervision of Nursing Department staff members assigned to Eastover Family Practice. He/she will be responsible for assigning duties, examining work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures. The Charge Nurse is also responsible for successful organizational and administrative operation of Nursing Department staff members in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations. In addition, the ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring quality and efficient patient care by providing clinical direction on issues related to prioritizing, staffing, patient management, productivity, customer service, problem-solving and employee performance.  The Charge Nurse will work under the supervision of the Director of Nursing and will assure provision of care to the assigned patient population in a professional manner, utilizing the nursing process and principles of continuous quality improvement in collaboration with other members of the healthcare team.
Education & Experience: Must be licensed to work as a Registered Nurse in the State of South Carolina; must have graduated from an accredited institution/nursing program; must have a Minimum of at least six months to one year experience as a staff RN.

Position Description: Certified/Registered Medical Assistant /Referral Specialist
 Assistant will support nursing staff and providers in the provision of patient care; to include recording vital signs, discussing chief health concerns, performing testing, and assisting with procedures and documentation as required. Phlebotomy skills are required as well as basic word processing and computers skills.

Position Description: Clinical Practice Administrator is responsible for supervising and overseeing all operational aspects of the clinical department, including clinical services and staffing needs; and coordinating the clinical work flow in order to provide the most efficient, effective, safe and comprehensive patient care. He/she will work with physicians, midlevel providers and clinical staff to increase the volume of clinical outpatient services, referral process, patient flow, and maximize the productivity of each practice location.
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in the area of Health Care Management or Administration / Nursing or Minimum of six years of experience in a clinical setting performing related job duties.  Supervisory experience is required. Experience with underserved populations preferred.  Ability to communicate in English and Spanish preferred.

Position Description:  The HIM Specialist is responsible for compiling, processing, and maintaining medical records of the Cooperative’s patients in a manner consistent with the organization’s medical, administrative, ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements.

Posting: Precision Medicine Initiative (PMI) Cohort Certified Medical Assistant

Position Description: The PMI Certified Medical Assistant will support the implementation of the PMI program by the promotion and enrollment of patients to include discussion of the consent procedure, assisting in the completion of health questionnaires, performing physical assessment and phlebotomy procedures.  Phlebotomy skills are required as well as basic word processing and computers skills. A total of two (2) PMI Certified Medical Assistants will be hired.  These are grant funded, full time, temporary positions.
Education & Experience: Must have a Certificate or an Associate’s Degree in Medical Assisting from an accredited Medical Assisting Program in the State of South Carolina; must have a Minimum of at least six months to one year experience as a Medical Assistant.
